HAUER LAVERDA 1200

More than two years ago Gerhard from Graz surprised us with sensational news of owning a HAUER LAVERDA 1200. Up until then we always thought there had only ever been a single Laverda with this tubular space frame, built in Vienna.
Now we have been to Graz and have taken a closer look at Gerhard's rarity. His HAUER LAVERDA 1200 was registered in Vienna in June 1977. The base for this modification was a LAVERDA 1000 3C. The papers still show the bike with wire wheels. The first owner tuned the engine to 1200 cc and mainly used the bike for hill-climbs. One of Gerhard's friends bought it as a basket-case but didn't get around to rebuild it. For more than 35 years Gerhard has now been the owner of this HAUER LAVERDA. After a meticulous restoration he got it registered but onlz rode it for a few hundred kilometres. We were in awe about the exquisite condition of the bike, a true Austrian LAVERDA gem.

Since June 2021 Max Kolar has been proud owner of this HAUER LAVERDA 1200. At Max's she's in good company with three HAUER Kawasakis and a LAVERDA 1000. Max is presently turning the HAUER LAVERDA 1200 into a racebike. To do so he completely stripped and re-built the bike. In addition to that the optics underwent a makeover as well: Tank and seat once again form a unit and a new fairing has been adapted. Even the orange and white paintjob has already been completed. Now all that's missing are new pistons for the engine.
