The "Racing Days 2020 - Rupert Hollaus Race" at the RedBullRing in Spielberg this year were held without public and under strict Corona safety-regulations.
The three LAVERDA riders Horst Scheuer (LAVERDA 1200), Willi Werndl (LAVERDA 1000 and 750 Zanè) and Reinhold Weinert (LAVERDA 1000 SFC and 750 Zanè) and their entourage were assembled in pit 18.
Practice was held on a wet track with temperatures around 10°C. Accordingly there were countless crashes and interruptions and even the pace-car happened to hit the gravel. After a lunch-break, just in time for qualifying the track had dried up and our three LAVERDA riders were able to give it some stick. Minor technical issues of the bikes were immediately diagnosed and resolved by the team. Even the Zanè of Reinhold was brought back on the track after a crash.
The races on Saturday were dry. There were two heats per class: The silver-run of 10 min + one lap and the gold-run of 15 min. + one lap. Horst scored a 4th and a 3rd in the class over 750 cc model years 1970 to 1990 with his fastest lap at 1:55.526. Willi scored a 7th and an 8th, Reinhold an 8th and a 7th among 16 starters. Willi and Reinhold also entered with their Zanè bikes in the Youngtimer class up to 850 cc, model years 1991 to 2002, but were unable to score any great results due to the number of high-class entrants.

Our congratulations to the LAVERDA pit 18, these are great results – FORZA LAVERDA!
