Peter is our GT- and drum-brakes guy. As of yet there is no drum-brake LAVERDA in his garage but it can't be long. And then it has to be a 750 GT or 750 S with Grimeca brakes. Everything else does not count!
Peter is fascinated by the story of the LAVERDA company and tries to find out as much as possible in detail. At Italian vintage markets he's notorious for taking pictures of LAVERDA frame and engine numbers, and he usually come back with a big pile of old "Motociclismo" issues. In the workshop he has turned into our specialist for LAVERDA electrics.
In 1996 together with Gert Schnögl, he bought 1000 3CL in Sulzbacher makeover which they optically restored. The first owner had bought the bike in 1977 in Breganze, brought it home on a trailer and then had it tuned, made roadworthy and registered by Werner Sulzbacher, the Austrian LAVERDA importer. Already from the factory the bike was equipped with a 3 into 1 exhaust system with open megaphone. Added were clip-ons, a bikini fairing and an SFC single seat.
An orange paintjob and an SFC taillight were the first improvements done by Peter and Gert. Hirschi, our triple specialist removed the original air box and helped her back on the road with a big service. Already the following year she saw her hometown Breganze again for the first time after 20 years. It was due to the big LAVERDA anniversary rally in 1997 – an unforgettable experience!
